Homework Block B and G (Feb 5/6)

Answer the question: What have I learned about the Middle Ages in the last two classes?

Think about the last two classes and reflect on the video you watched and the material we read. Explain with details and specific information what you learned and what you found interesting about the Middle Ages.

In the title section, write “What have I learned about the Middle Ages?”

In the post section, answer the question. Make sure to write a full paragraph describing everything you have learned about the Middle Ages. Make sure to spell check, grammar check, read out loud, and format with paragraph spacing before you click publish.

Great Work

We are doing a great job in class working on our Roman Empire Educational Board Games. We will continue working on them in class until Monday, January 22nd. Then, you are allowed to add any final touches before the next class period. All games are due at the beginning of the following class periods:

Tuesday, January 23rd for Block B
Wednesday, January 24th for Block G

On these days we will play the games. If you have misplaced your guideline sheet and rubric, look on my resource page and you can find them there.

Great Job Block G!

We are off to a superb start with our current events initial posts. Some students have done some terrific work and you should check out their blogs to help you improve your first current events post, and to help guide you next semester when you work individually on the current event assignment.

For some excellent examples of the Current Events Initial Postings, make sure you look at Cecelia’s, Iqmal’s, Nina’s, and Charlotte’s blogs.

Homework Block B and G (December 8/11)

You need to finish the group current events assignment that we were working on in class and post in on your blog.

On the resource page please use the following guidelines from your current events overview asignment sheet: Requirements for my Oral Presentation / Initial Posting.

If you need help, a preparation sheet is available on the resources page of the blog to guide you through the preparation.

Also, use the sample current events blog posting from class to double check your work.

TIP: Carefully read the rubric to make sure you include all the the proper resources.

HELP:  Come and see me if you have any questions before the day your assignment is due so I can help solve any problems you may encounter.

Your task is to:

1. Log-in to your own blog.

2. Click on the write tab to create your second post.

3. Answer the question: What did I learn about Rome today?

Homework Block B and G (December 1/4)

You have two tasks for your homework.

1. Find a current event article, print it, and bring it to class. Your article should be something that affects the whole world and changes many of lives.

2. Read the sample current event I posted on my blog and the sample posts and reflections my 6th grade students posted on their sites.

Homework Block B and G (November 30/31)

Congratulations! You are now the proud owner of your very own blog!

Your task is to:

1. Log-in to your own blog. The URL should be something like this:
http://kimmie.learnerblogs.org/wp-admin.php

Note: Make sure to put your username after the http:// and then use the rest of the URL as it’s listed above.

2. You need to edit your first post. You must make sure you included each of the components we worked on in class.

3. Answer the question: What do you think about history or social studies?

4. In the title section, write “History”

5. In the post section, answer the question. Make sure to write a full paragraph describing everything you think about history and social studies. You may want to think about the following questions: Is it important? Do we need it? Should we study it?

6.Your post must include a link and a picture.

7. When you’re done typing, check for spelling errors, and then click save.

8.Your Blog must contain categories for Current Events, Social Studies, Homework, and Block B Blogs. Also you must have a Blogroll with links to each of your classmate’s blogs.

9. You should make sure you successfully changed you password and time zone.

After you’re done, feel free to explore all the features of your blog! Check out the presentation tab — what can you do there?

Excellent Acting 7th Grade!

Everyone did a superb job acting out the Greek plays that you all wrote in English class. An enormous amount of hard work and effort went into the preparation of the plays and in the end it was a success. Let us continue with that same amount of enthusiasm as we embark upon out blogging project. Congratulations!
